Q. How long does it last?
A. Treatment results will normally last from 3-4 months this treatment is useful to prevent and smooth lines, most commonly used on the upper part of the face to treat frown lines and crows feet.
DERMAL FILLER AND MESOTHERAPY TREATMENT
Q. What is the difference between a dermal filler treatment and a mesotherapy treatment when dealing with lines and wrinkles on the face?
A. Dermal fillers are injectable implants that are most commonly either hyaluronic acid or collagen, which are both degradable, they are injected by a nurse, doctor or dentist into the dermis of the skin to reduce lines on the face.
The effects can last between 6 to 12 months. These products can also be used to add volume to the skin where the contours of the face have slackened, for example at the corners of the mouth (marionette lines). The lips can also be filled with these products to give fuller lips or to provide more definition to the outline of the lips.
Mesotherapy is the introduction of a natural bio-interactive hyaluronic acid, which is administered by a series of injections into the skin using a very fine needle to treat fine lines and for skin hydration. This treatment restores the compactness of the skin, hydrates the skin and promotes collagen production. It is usually a course of three treatments at two-week intervals.
Q. What happens With Dermal Filler Treatment?
Treatment with Juvederm Ultra can be completed in as little as 30 minutes but it can be longer depending on which areas are being treated.
Using a very fine needle your practitioner injects Juvederm Ultra under the surface of the skin – at shallow levels for fine lines and slightly deeper for more severe wrinkles and folds.
Q. Will the treatment be uncomfortable?
Not Only is Juvederm Ultra smooth flowing so that it can be injected easily and evenly but it contains numbing agent to help reduce any discomfort during the treatment and the effects of treatment are apparent immediately.
Q. How long do the effects last?
The duration of effect can depend on age, how much filler is injected, where it is placed in the skin and the quality of the skin., as well as general health and lifestyle. The beneficial effects can be expected to last for six months to one year after treatment.
Q. What are the side effects?
Following the injection, there may be some redness, swelling and bruising around the injection site. Most side effects are mild or moderate in nature and resolve within a few days, these include, but are not limited to, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching and discolouration. There is also a risk of infection with any injection procedure. Post treatment advice is given, which when followed should reduce any negative outcomes.
